The reason is that it contains peat, while no other label contains it, although Islay is famous for its peat and Whiskey with them. Maybe as many say it is the exception that confirms the rule but also makes the difference!

Bunnahabhain 18YRS comes to us from the shores of Islay, where the cellars of the Bunnahabhain distillery are located, with ex-sherry casks full of malt whiskey enjoying the fresh, sea air.

Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is an excellent single malt whiskey, which comes to us from the Islay of Scotland and the Bunnahabhain distillery which is the least smoked of the other distilleries on the island. Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old was introduced to us again, this time changed, in 2010, with a higher alcohol content (46.3%), without filtering and without the addition of dyes. It will mature for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels, thus gaining a rich and full body but also perfect balance.
