To make sure that their 8 classmates would not lose touch, they arranged to be in Salen once a year. At one of their meetings they all happened to have a bottle of whiskey. During dinner and looking at the bottles on the table, one of them wondered if there was Swedish whiskey and that's how it all started. The distillery was established and from 1999 they continue to offer us excellent labels such as Mackmyra Brukswhisky.
