Extra Special Old Highland or Johhnie Walker Black Label as it was renamed in 1909 is a whiskey consisting of various aged varieties and blends of at least 12 years. The Johnnie Walker Black Label is definitely one of the best in this category, and probably the most recognizable today.

Johnnie Walker was born in 1805 and at the age of 14, lost his father. The family after this event, decided to invest some money in an Italian warehouse-grocery which sold wines and spirits, in order to be active in the trade. This is how Johnnie Walker Red was created, which took its name in 1909, which after that, it was previously called "Special Old Highland".
