The Aberfeldy Distillery, with its establishment dating back to 1896, resides in the charming town of Aberfeldy on the banks of the River Tay. Its name, when translated, roughly means "mouth of the Feldy," a nod to its location.

Aberfeldy Distillery was founded in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons, one of Scotland's most famous whiskey producers. The distillery is located on the banks of the River Tay, which is known for its clear water and rich gold deposits. Water from the river is used to produce Aberfeldy 16 year old, along with locally malted barley.

Aberlour 12 Years Double Cask Matured follows a specific process for its production. The two types of barrels (oak and sherry oak) are selected very carefully every year in order to host Aberlour.
