Caol Ila 12 Year Old was introduced to us in June 2002, by Caol Ila Distillery, which is perhaps the largest and most famous distillery on the island of Islay. The distillery was founded in 1846 and is located in a hidden cove near Port Askaig on the island of Islay. The site was originally chosen for the clear water of Loch Nam Ban Lake, which is still the main source of water today.

John Smith, the most experienced distillery of his time as it said, have founded the Cragganmore distillery in 1869, and thanks to his experience and love, he quickly made it famous. Michael Jackson had made a special reference to Cragganmore, stating that it has the most complex aromas of all malts. Cragganmore 12 Year Old was awarded a Gold Medal in 2010 and 2011 in the Scotch Whiskey Masters competition.
