The history of Tenjaku begins in Yamanashi Prefecture and specifically the city of Fuefuki. Akashi Red is a whiskey created at Eigashima White Oak Distillery, the first Japanese distillery licensed to produce whiskey in 1919. Like all Akashi, it is produced under the watch of a Toji (grand master in technology sake), applying various methodologies in its production process. For the production of this blend whiskey, 30% malt barley and 70% wheat will be used, while its maturation lasts at least 5 years, 3 of them in Hogsheads and 2 in white oak barrels
