Il Poggio Piedirosso Campania IGP Maiestus 0.75L

Piedirosso is a rare and ancient variety found mainly in Campania, Italy and means "red feet". After aging for 6 months in barrique barrels and staying for 1 year in the bottle, it gives us a beautiful ruby red wine. To our nose it reveals complex aromas of cherry, plum and raspberry, slightly spicy. In the mouth, it is pleasant, smooth, slightly salty and velvety. It has an aftertaste with moderate length and persistence. Accompany pasta or rice in tomato sauce or with ragout, red and white meats such as rabbit, vegetable soups with legumes, fish soups, cured meats and not very mature cheeses.

A family of farmers since 1790 has been tending the hills of ancient Samnio, a tradition handed down from father to son. The first harvests were of Aglianico to which they added, in the mid-1980s, the cultivation of Falanghina grapes.

In 1997 the big step was made: Carmine and Marco decided not to limit themselves to the cultivation of vineyard but also to proceed with wine production. In 2001, the first bottles of Aglianico and Falanghina are released. Today, Il Poggio is mainly exported to Northern Europe, Canada and the United States. Il Poggio, is located on a hill 300 meters above sea level, at the foot of Mount Taburno (1394 m), immersed in a green and rich countryside and has chosen to focus only on the cultivation of native vines: Aglianico, Falanghina, Coda di Volpe, Fiano del Sannio.
