Born from a strict and aristocratic terroir, this top cuvee reveals the purest expression of Mourvedre. It is the flagship of the estate and one of the best examples of the great Bandol wines! It has an intense color and a high-intensity aromatic bouquet reminiscent of plums, tea, cloves, black pepper, thyme, mint and tobacco. All this without depriving the wine of its mineral elegance in the mouth and the silky aftertaste. It is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and its production is limited to only 4,500 bottles. Maximin Herrenberg's sharpest point is the origin of Carl Loewen's Grosses Gewachs. In this parcel the shale is harder and poorer. Extreme conditions for man and the vine. The iron content of the shale is so high, it makes the shale red. In 1902 this part of Maximin Herrenberg was planted. These very old authoritarian vines still stand today and give great potential to this complex wine. Maximin Herrenberg GG always offers extremely intense ripe fruit, like ripe pears. Also, aromas of wild herbs combine with the mouth which is salty with aromas of stone fruit and slate.

The soft taste is reminiscent of rich ripe fruit, while its intensity and freshness structure its evolution in the mouth. The finish is full and harmonious, suggesting an excellent champagne. It has excellent value for money.

Beautiful intense ruby red. The bouquet is complex, aromas of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry and mushroom. Followed by mineral notes, wet earth, licorice, vanilla, as well as botanical notes of thyme and laurel. In the mouth it is medium to full bodied with elegant tannins. Juicy due to the acidity with a nice and long aftertaste. Perfect to accompany main meat dishes, it is excellent in combination with pork chops.

The wine matures for 5 years in Portuguese oak barrels instead of 2 years like a Classic Vintage. This explains its name, "Late Bottled Vintage". The longer barrel aging helps the wine's velvety feel and gives it that very approachable style. Ready to drink immediately after bottling!
