Johnnie Walker was born in 1805 and at the age of 14, lost his father. The family after this event, decided to invest some money in an Italian warehouse-grocery which sold wines and spirits, in order to be active in the trade. This is how Johnnie Walker Red was created, which took its name in 1909, which after that, it was previously called "Special Old Highland".

Johnnie Walker Red Rye Finish has been created by Jim Beveridge's team and is the result of long-term "experiments" exploring 203 different malt and grain whiskies.

Johnnie Walker Swing is the latest blend of Alexander Walker II -grandson of Johnnie Walker- which contains malt from various parts of Scotland such as Speyside, Northwest Highlands and Islay.
