Ballantine's is a blend of 50 single malt whiskies and 4 single grain whiskies. In 1827, George Ballantine opened a small grocery store in Edinburgh, selling a wide range of different whiskies to his customers. In 1865, he handed the store over to his son, as he opened a larger store in Glasgow, where he focused more on spirits and wines, while also starting his own blends.

These blends, made his youngest son want to start a business and so they started creating Ballantine's and exporting it. Now Ballantine's belongs to the company of Chivas Brothers, which keeps the traditional recipe and still offers us this creamy, balanced and delicious whiskey.
