The town of Bowmore was founded in 1768 and just 11 years later, in 1779, the first legal distillery on the island of Islay became operational, under the supervision of David Simon. The secret of the distillery is that it stores most of its labels in Scotland's oldest warehouse, the legendary 1st Vaults, which is the only one under the sea surface. The specific label, which was introduced to us in 2017, got its name from the legendary No1 Vaults.
