It was founded in 1843 in the Highlands of Scotland, with production starting in 1849 and is considered a pioneer in the technique of double maturation of whiskey, in barrels of sherry, port and wine.

Glenmorangie Duthac is a distinctive Highland single malt Scotch whisky and part of the distillery's Legends series. Named after Saint Duthac, the patron saint of Tain, where the distillery is located, it showcases Glenmorangie's innovative maturation approach. The whisky is matured using a combination of Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and virgin oak, resulting in a rich and layered aromatic profile. Glenmorangie 18 Year Old comes to us from Scotland and the Glenmorangie distillery, which is famous for its tall distilleries and of course its excellent whiskey. It was founded in 1843 in the Highlands of Scotland, with production starting in 1849 and is considered a pioneer in the technique of double maturation of whiskey, in barrels of sherry, port and wine. To create this label, the spirits will mature for 15 years in white, American, oak ex-bourbon barrels and then 30% of them will go into Oloroso sherry casks for about 3 more years, while the remaining 70% will remain in ex-bourbon barrels. Then the spirits will get married and create this great label!

Glenmorangie 18 Year Old comes to us from Scotland and the Glenmorangie distillery, which is famous for its tall distilleries and of course its excellent whiskey. It was founded in 1843 in the Highlands of Scotland, with production starting in 1849 and is considered a pioneer in the technique of double maturation of whiskey, in barrels of sherry, port and wine. To create this label, the spirits will mature for 15 years in white, American, oak ex-bourbon barrels and then 30% of them will go into Oloroso sherry casks for about 3 more years, while the remaining 70% will remain in ex-bourbon barrels. Then the spirits will get married and create this great label, the Glenmorangie 18 Year Old.

Of course the owner of Glenlivet, George Smith, did not miss the opportunity to offer him and 2 years later to get permission to distill the whiskey. This label will mature into three types of barrels, American white oak barrels, ex-sherry barrels and new American oak barrels, thus acquiring its special characteristics.

In 1822 it is said that King George IV on an official visit to Scotland asked to drink Glenlivet, leaving the world stunned, as it was then one of the many smuggled spirits in the Speyside area. Of course the owner of Glenlivet, George Smith, did not miss the opportunity to offer him and 2 years later to get permission to distill the whiskey. This label goes through the main stage of its maturation in American and Spanish oak barrels, and then it will be put in selected, French oak barrels, made of limousin oak, the same as that used for the barrels in which Cognac matures.
